"Goose" Bay Gelding Eventer

Very sad sale and home is number one priority. Qualified for 2 championships this month alone!

Goose is 16hh (I’m 5ft 10), 7 years old thoroughbred. He last raced 3 years ago so is ROR eligible! Kindest, playful character who’s been produced slowly.

Last year had multiple top 10 placings at unaffiliated, riding club and goBE events including winning eland lodge and 8th at Askham Bryan as a stay away show. He is an absolute machine cross country, nothing phases him, he’s bold but also very responsive and clever! I’m not the bravest jumper but I will attempt anything on him, xc schooled around 110cm. Evented mostly 80 as I did not want to rush him, hunter trials at 90/100 including Kelsall this year.

Showjumping, he is careful and again school around 100/110 cm. Competing at 90 and 100, he qualified for trial blazers over the winter. Flat work he is very established, leg yield, shoulder in, counter canter etc. Ridden tackless, bareback frequently, ride and lead, done farm rides around somerford alone and in company.

I don’t have many videos as I go competing alone, which he is a dream. He loads himself and will stand on the box all day waiting for me. He is the sweetest personality, plays with everything and a yard favourite!

Although he has been ridden by children and novices, he is not a complete novice ride and I want to find him a competition home. He loves his job and can have a buck which is shown in videos, most describe it as a “cow kick” and is pure excitement but knows when to concentrate on his job. He can get excited but will always walk and stand in the start box like an angel. He is fully up to date on teeth, phsyio, chiropractor and saddle fitter.
