"Gettingawaywithit " Bay Gelding Ex Racehorse

Gettingawaywithit, aka George, is a beautifully put together 6yo, approx 16.2hh TB gelding. George only ran twice and proved himself fairly useless as a racehorse so is relatively low mileage. He last ran in Dec 2025, finished racing completely sound and was turned away for holiday.

Since starting his retraining he is proving himself to be an exceptional ROR type, with real quality that you don’t find everyday. His flatwork is beautiful, naturally going in a soft, supple outline, with three very balanced paces and a beautifully collected canter! George enjoys his jumping and is showing bags of ability and potential.

He has been to lots of outings and is actively out competing and has taken everything in his stride, proving to be incredibly easy and level headed when out and about. He has been to lots of arena hires, cross country schooling, showing classes, winning his ROR classes and receiving lovely comments from the judges, as well as show jumping competitions.

This horse has the makings of a real star in the show ring in ROR classes, or so much potential for Eventing. Equally he would make a really fun allrounder, riding club sort, could suit a teenager looking to be competitive and have lots of fun, or an amateur looking for something to produce up the levels.

At home George ticks all the boxes, he is a super kind and genuine horse, with a wonderful temperament and always wants to please! He loves hacking, goes alone or in company, is excellent in heavy traffic and sensible in open spaces. He is incredibly well mannered and is the type that is a joy to have around the yard. He is good to clip, catch, shoe, load and travel etc. He has no lumps, bumps, sarcoids or other known health related issues.

George can have the odd playful buck/bronc, nothing nasty or particularly big, but for this reason he is not suitable for novices or nervous riders.
