He isn't a novice ride as he can be sharp, never nasty just put 100% effort into everything! He can be sensitive so a calm, quiet rider would be most suitable for Fred. He can be strong and is forward going so needs a confident rider who knows what they are doing, and is looking for some competition fun!
Never bucks or rears, but can bounce around a little when excited. But I am only 5ft and have never had any issues with him. He is good to hack, Fred has hacked alone and in company, he may be a bit spooky to a new area, but when he is in regular work he's never a problem. I have taken him showjumping up to 1m bur has the scope for higher, arena eventing, cross country, he has done some eventing as well and loves it all.
Fred hasn't been in full competition work for around a year now so he will need some work putting in before he is ready for competition again, regular work helps bring out the best in him. He's been lunged and lighted school for a few weeks and is continuing to do more.
This reflects in the price for Fred. In the 7 years of owning Fred he has taught me endless amounts and given me amazing memories. Fred is happy to go to a show alone or with company and never a problem when he is there, he is good to warm up, just gets excited going into the ring as he knows his job.
He is perfect to clip, shoe, groom, tack up, he's a lovely boy, never had a sick day and has always been absolutely fine over the last 7 years with us.
An absolute 5 star home is a must for our special boy, he can come with his tack as well. We can send you plenty of videos of Fred jumping , eventing and cross country.
Please no Time wasters, he's a coward horse and needs a confident rider.
