"Dougie (Double D)" Dapple Grey Gelding All Rounder

Dougie ("Double D") is a 15.1hh, 8 year old, dapple grey, gelding, weatherby's passport doesn't state breeding but if I had to guess if say Connie/TB/SB x. He is for sale through no fault of his own, he was for the owners grandaughter who has now gone off to uni and doesn't have as much time to put into him as she thought. He was bought as a lightly backed 3 year old, that was taken back to basics and restarted the due needing to give him time to grow and develop correctly so very little wear and tear. He now needs more experience, more confidence, he has never hacked as the road where the yard is, is very busy so not suitable for hacking, he has been to a small local farm ride where he behaved impeccably. He is snaffle mouthed and has popped a few small jumps, loves pole work and still good in a snaffle for jumping. Has an established walk, trot, canter and the start of some good lateral, collected and medium strides when he puts his mind to it. However, NOT a novice ride can be very spooky and needs someone with the correct knowledge, experience and confidence to be able to continue his education and fitness building in a considerate way. Due to owner being so busy with A' levels over the last year he has been on the side lines so he is no where near a finished article hence the price, so 5⭐🏡 with the right person is most important. Needs lots of time spending on his ground work as can be rude and needs someone to create a respectful bond with him. Currently shod on all 4 as typical tb feet, never been clipped so can't comment on that either. Loading and bathing now getting pretty good with both. Happy to live in or out. He needs some friends as since his field mate was sold last year he has been on his own and his confidence level has dropped massively he needs the socialisation to help him learn and build his confidence again. He loves a fuss and is a real character. Up to date with teeth, vacs, worm counts, saddle fit, physio etc. He has such potential in the right hands, everything so has been taken really carefully with him so needs to go to the right home that will build on this. Comes with tack, and some rugs. Sad sale so no time wasters, joyriders, no loans, no lwvtb.
