"Bodhi" Steel Grey Gelding All Rounder

Bodhi is an incredibly well bred 15hh Connemara with an exceptional temperament. Gentle, affectionate and trusting, bright, intelligent and incredibly willing. He loves people and is the sort of horse who genuinely enjoys his interactions on the ground and in the saddle.

Bodhi has been trained at Think Like a Pony South West, where his education has been deliberately slow, thoughtful and relationship-focused.

We have spent over seven months building his confidence from the ground to the saddle, ensuring that he was mentally, emotionally and physically ready for each stage before asking him to progress.

His education has focused not simply on getting him ridden, but on helping him develop confidence, balance, flexibility, athleticism, lightness and responsiveness, while creating a horse who understands what is being asked of him and feels secure in his relationship with people.

This careful preparation has really shown in his transition to ridden work. Bodhi has been incredibly easy to back and is safe, forward going but easy to direct and maneuver from the saddle.

He is currently walking and trotting under saddle and is hacking out beautifully, both alone and in company.

Bodhi is currently based at a children's riding school, where he is regularly around children and adults of all ages and also multiple dogs! He is safe and straightforward to handle and has proved himself to be a kind, sensible horse both on the ground and under saddle.

We have invested considerably in his physical wellbeing and development, including chiropractic care, massage, specialist remedial saddle fitting and podiatry. His comfort, confidence and long-term development have always been prioritised over rushing his progress.

Bodhi is still at the beginning of his ridden education and is not being sold as a finished horse. We are looking for someone who appreciates the quality of the foundations he has been given and who wants to continue his education with the same patience, kindness and consideration.

Bodhi is also great at liberty and this has been a significant part of his education. He is incredibly connected, attentive and responsive. His liberty work really showcases his intelligence, willingness and genuine enjoyment of learning. It is a lovely reflection of the trust and relationship that has been developed with him, and gives him fantastic foundations for someone who enjoys groundwork, liberty and relationship-based training.

He has the temperament, intelligence and foundations to be an incredibly rewarding horse for the right person.

Bodhi will remain in training with us until the right home is found, and his price will increase accordingly as his ridden education, experience and confidence continue to develop.

Horses like Bodhi don't come along very often. Finding the right person and home for this very special horse is incredibly important to us.
