Maverick’s registered name is Blackdown Timothy. He is a three-year-old registered Section A New Forest gelding, currently measuring approximately 13hh, with a fully recorded pedigree and a New Forest Pony Breeding & Cattle Society passport.
He is by Sandhole Whispering Grass, whose sire is Foxhills Statesman, and out of Jades May Belle, whose sire is the well-known Pondhead Pan‑Shine. Pondhead Pan‑Shine was a long-serving Forest-run stallion from 2000 to 2011, and his bloodline has produced successful ridden and competition ponies.
Maverick is a lovely, strong and sturdy New Forest type with an exceptionally kind nature. He absolutely loves people, attention, being groomed and having a fuss. He is still young and green but has already worn a saddle and bridle and walked quietly with someone sitting on him.
This is a genuinely sad sale through absolutely no fault of his own. I simply don’t have the luxury of enough time to continue his education and give him the attention he deserves. He has plenty of potential and will make a wonderful pony for someone with the experience and time to bring him on correctly.
