We need volunteers to help support the team in the Day Hospice on a Friday morning or afternoon.
AM shift involves:
Setting up the room for the day; laying the tables for lunch; taking the menu choices (before 10:30am); serving refreshments for the patients; spending time interacting with the patients; ability joining in activities; assisting the nursing team; serving lunch (at 12:30pm).
PM shift involves:
Continuing tasks handed over from the morning volunteer shift; finishing feeding patients – desserts etc; clearing down the lunches; emptying dishwasher; joining in activities; serving refreshments for the patients; preparing for the afternoon raffle; assisting the nursing team; clearing down for the day.
You will need to be approved by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)Understand the importance of confidentialityAdherence to boundaries of the role and organisationHave resolved any personal grief
We will provide you with induction training which will include an Introduction to the Hospice, Health and Safety Awareness and relevant on the job training.

Once you receive an offer, arrange pickup and delivery times with the bringer, accept the offer and wait for your items to arrive at your door.
Your card is never charged until your item has been successfully delivered, and there is no cost for posting a request.
