Julia is a fully qualified Iyengar Yoga Teacher to Junior Intermediate level. The online class is suitable for beginners and those with a little more experience. All students must complete a health declaration form to ensure that the class is suitable and safe for each participant. Yoga props such as blocks, blankets, belts are advised to help to ensure accuracy of alignment in postures. This helps the students to gain maximum benefit from each posture and avoids uneven strain on the body.
Periods of relaxation and restorative postures balance more energising aspects of the practise. Yoga makes space in the body, improves feelings of well being and brings energy to help students feel calmer and able to tackle what each new day may bring.
The image below is my pen friend’s sister in Bourg en Bresse, France from 1970. A long love for France, the people, the culture, the landscapes, years of teaching in sixth form and adult education have led me here. Classes are described on the French page, and are essentially to take you into a French experience for both enjoyment and learning. You are cordially invited to come along and try.
Hi I’m Ashley founder of Lotus Lessons thank you for visiting our site, I am 200hr Vinyasa YTT and Kids YTT with Peaceful Babes Yoga . I am so grateful to be able to share my love of Yoga with my students. I began my practice in 2015, previous to this I had tried to build muscle in the gym to support my physical and mental well being. Although the gym helped a lot I struggled to get inside my body, and when asked to activate certain muscles had no idea how to go about it. I quickly built muscle in all the wrong places where my body would compensate for the imbalances it had, this lead me to Yoga and I couldn’t be more grateful for that. My Yoga practice began at home and I quickly identified that all the time I moved my body on my mat, my mind stayed incredibly quiet, for me this was a revelation my busy thoughts had been muted, which gave me the time and space to explore my mind, body and soul and as a result has completely changed my life and allowed me to achieve things I never thought possible. I think many people can relate to the implications of a very busy mind and I believe strongly, that through healthy lifestyle choices, movement, mindfulness and meditation we can all get to a place of stillness together. Join me on the mat to find your strength and inner peace.
My Adults Classes are based around mindful movement and meditation explored through an asana practice, pranayama and meditation to enable you to better understand your mind, body and if you’ll allow soul. Classes range from beginners where we break down the postures to get a better understanding of what the asana can physically and mentally do to support our bodies, as well as exploring breathing techniques and meditation to support good physical and mental well being to Vinyasa flow classes where I create new and interesting flows and support students to deepen their pranayama and meditation practice to help every yogi to find their edge.
Kids Yoga classes are offered for children from ages 2-17 where I enable the children to explore their mind and bodies though a playful practice created by their favorite story books. We explore Movement, mindfulness and mediation to support children to manage their emotional and physical well being in an ever changing world.
I am a registered yoga teacher and a clinical massage therapist on a mission to help people improve their pain levels, stress and anxiety.
I am originally from Florence, Italy, but have been living in the UK for 5 years and am currently based in Worthing, West Sussex. However, I work with people all over the world, since I do not only work in person, but also online.
I hold a few different yoga teacher trainings certificates (which you can see below) as well as clinical massage trainings, however my teaching also comes from direct experience…
At the age of 11 I was diagnosed with scoliosis, later I suffered 2 long-term illnesses (age 14 and age 24) and suffer from connective tissue disorders (under the unmbrella of autoimmune diseases) and PTSD. Yoga has been a deeply supportive practice. During certain periods of my life (my illnesses and flare ups) I experience first hand how practicing a general Asana (posture) class does not suit my body. I needed to find something that could work for me without causing harm – Ahimsa. Therefore, what I teach comes from the knowledge that our bodies are in need of different things at different stages of our lives and that a “hard”, fast-paced practice is not always the answer.
For me, yoga needs to be an inclusive practice! Every body is different and certain postures might not be attainable for ones body, and that is perfectly fine.
My gentle approach applies to both Yoga & Massage for Chronic Pain. I believe massage doesn’t need to be extra strong to be effective and I use different techniques for different clients.
