Reach Out and Help Mentoring Volunteer
Stratford-on-Avon District plus occasional travel outside of this area
Level of Authority
Main Purpose of Role
To offer 1:1 support for individuals with mild mental health difficulties in working towards personal goals and attending additional services, appointments, groups or events, in order to help them develop strategies and abilities to manage their wellbeing more effectively.
Between 1-3 Hours per week
We ask for at least 3 months commitment to this role
9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Volunteers will be required to complete a DBS application
Volunteers will be expected to work alone but will be supported both with regular contact, supervision and training.
Undertake any training deemed necessary for the carrying out of this role. e.g. confidentiality and data protection.
Identify the support needs of the service users
Develop person-centred strategies with service users to enable them to manage their wellbeing more effectively
Keep accurate and reliable records of service user details and monitoring information for reporting to Service Coordinator
Maintain confidentiality with regard to information, known or held, about service users, volunteers and staff.
Promote Springfield Mind’s services and engage with the organisation’s mission, vision and values
Liaise competently with a variety of Springfield Mind staff and volunteers, Social and Health Care staff, staff from other organisations, service users and carers.
Attend regular supervision and appraisal meetings
Knowledge of services in support area
Demonstrate honesty and integrity
Demonstrate self-awareness, an understanding of impact on others and an ability to manage self and maintain professional conduct in difficult and challenging situations
Provide support, not dictation
Promote safeguarding and health and safety of self and service user
Report all incidents, accidents and concerns

Once you receive an offer, arrange pickup and delivery times with the bringer, accept the offer and wait for your items to arrive at your door.
Your card is never charged until your item has been successfully delivered, and there is no cost for posting a request.
