We are looking for a friendly and enthusiastic senior carer for our friendly, award winning St Leonards Care Home, rated Good in all areas by CQC. Candidate must have a minimum NVQ level 2 and be prepared to undertake level 3.
We have worked hard during the Covid-19 pandemic and have remained symptom free and all staff and residents have been tested.
48 Hours a week to include every other weekend, rate £9.50. You will be provided with free uniform, free training, paid holidays and meal whilst on duty.
The administration of medication, completion of all relevant documentation relating to the administration of medication and the ordering of medication for residents. ONLY IF YOU HAVE BEEN TRAINED AND ARE CONFIDENT IN PERFOMING THESE DUTIES.
To be responsible for the home when taking on call duties.
Help to ensure that all junior and domestic staff contributes to the best of their ability to the efficient running of the home and the creation of the right atmosphere.
To have a working knowledge of the homes Health & Safety and Environmental Health regulations.
To liaise with multi-disciplinary agencies and documentation of any meetings.
To have a working knowledge of the homes policies and procedures.
To assist residents with personal care including: using the bath, bed bath or shower, foot and nail care, washing hair, helping a resident shave, comb or brush their hair, mouth care, denture care, helping residents use a bedpan or urinal. Helping residents to use the toilet or portable commode, making and changing beds, preparing residents for bed, assisting getting in and out of bed and washing and dressing.
Helping with the resident’s physical and mental activity. This could involve talking with them, reading with them, taking day trips, writing on their behalf, assisting with hobbies and recreation activities’.
Help to ensure that rooms and common spaces are properly cleaned and maintained and adequately heated.
To care for the dying.
Assist with serving meals and other domestic duties you are qualified and assigned to undertake.
Be on standby to answer emergency bells, answer the telephone and door.
Ensure care notes and any other form of written report that affects your work, are read and kept up to date. (Monthly care plan reviews, daily care notes, accident forms, follow up forms, medication reviews etc…), Including using computerised reporting system via an I pod.
Take part in staff meetings, health & Safety meetings and training activities as required.
Support the management of Home in his/her duties as the ‘responsible officer’ for the home under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and the fire regulations.
