Working as an Independent Travel Trainer is a rewarding role supporting young people to learn how to travel independently.
Our Independent Travel Trainers are based in the community, working one-to-one to support young people with special educational needs to travel independently using public transport. Our training helps enhance their independence and ultimately improve their life chances, improving access to new activities, employment and education.
Travel training experience is not required as a full training package will be provided to successful candidates. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can work independently to join our exciting team in Norfolk.
Successful candidates will need to have good communication skills and display a caring, patient and level headed attitude in the delivery of training. They will have a genuine interest in working with young people and have the ability to communicate in a clear, pleasant and friendly manner. Candidates must have an excellent awareness of personal safety, be organised, punctual and be able to deliver training positively with energy and enthusiasm.
Travel Trainers will be contracted to work between 25 hours per week on a split shift, operating at school drop off and pick up times (approx. 7.30 – 9.30 am and 2.30 – 4.30 pm). Additional hours may be available depending on each training assignment. A full driving licence and access to a car is advantageous but not essential, with mileage paid for as required.

Nimber is a community delivery service that matches items being sent with travellers going the same way. You post what you'd like to buy, and we notify bringers who travel that route. When someone can help they will make you an offer.
Once you receive an offer, arrange pickup and delivery times with the bringer, accept the offer and wait for your items to arrive at your door.
Your card is never charged until your item has been successfully delivered, and there is no cost for posting a request.
