We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate with the drive and motivation to undertake an Apprenticeship working towards a formal accountancy accreditation through day release at Brighton Metropolitan College. Hours of work are 37.5 per week with one day at College during term time, and full time hours during College holidays. Good problem solving skills and an interest in working with figures is essential.
You will be well supported working as part of a small team, and trained on SAGE Accounts, if no previous experience, as well as expanding your knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, and other Microsoft programmes.
Your duties will be variable, but will include validating timesheets for the payroll, pension auto enrolment practices, BACS payments as well as the inputting and processing of purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledgers as required. You will also take responsibility for the administration and reconciliation of Petty Cash, reconciliation of the weekly shop takings and entering sales figures into Excel Spreadsheet and reconciliation of Fundraising income totals and input as required.

We are located in a beautiful setting in North Chailey in the middle of the Sussex Downs with stunning gardens and woodland walks, along with our resident Donkeys. We offer free onsite parking, however, due to our location you must have your own transport as we are not serviced by public transport.
We offer subsidised meals via our main kitchen and there is a café facility 4 days per week. Tea and coffee are provided free of charge. We will fund all tuition fees, and the hourly rate will increase in years 2 and 3 in line with the National minimum working wage. This post is currently subject to an enhanced DBS check which will be funded by the Trust.
