Teddy Bears Day Nursery is located in Hove close to Portslade station. We are proud to have just celebrated 25 years and proud of our staff who have a combined 100 years of childcare experience and 50% have worked in the Nursery for more than 5 years. Our team ensure quality childcare in a safe, fun and stimulating environment, they allow children to develop at their own pace, nurture their natural skills and curiosity and encourage them to reach their full potential.
We are registered to care for 34 children per session, aged from 0 to 5 years and we are open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday throughout the year, closing only for Bank Holidays and Christmas.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an EYP / EYT or Level 3 qualified practitioner to join our team as a hands-on, decision making, supportive team member who will work closely with the Manager, supervise a room, key-work a group of children, lead good practice and deputise when required.
Applicants must have good verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with children and families; creativity skills; ability to plan and implement new ideas; experience of supervising and leading a team of staff members; good knowledge of EYFS, child protection and safeguarding; good literacy and computer / IT skills. Experience of Tapestry is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
Duties will include supporting a key group of children; working with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum; delivering high quality care and activities for children; assisting with general office duties as required; showing prospective parents around and being responsible for the smooth and safe running of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
