Sussex Community Development Association (SCDA) are looking for volunteers to cover Prospects House Reception. Prospects House is located in Hailsham and used:
As a base for Community Development Hailsham and the Safe From Harm project, both SCDA projects and houses East Sussex Association for the Blind (ESAB) and Southdown, Mental Health Recovery Services, East Sussex community Network To deliver low cost counselling To run Employability support services To offer free and low cost courses
The building is open 9.00am to 4.30pm Monday – Thursday and we are asking volunteers to commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week.
As a volunteer receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for the organisation and will provide a small level of administrative support. You will be asked to
Serve visitors by opening the front door, greeting, welcoming and directing them to the appropriate parts of the building.
Answer, screen and forward any incoming phone calls while providing basic information when needed.
Receive and sort daily mail/deliveries/couriers
Maintain security by following procedures (monitor visitors book)
Keeping the reception area tidy and clear from obstacles
Perform other clerical duties (when necessary) such as filing, photocopying, collating, data entry etc.
Nimber is a community delivery service that matches items being sent with travellers going the same way. You post what you'd like to buy, and we notify bringers who travel that route. When someone can help they will make you an offer.
Once you receive an offer, arrange pickup and delivery times with the bringer, accept the offer and wait for your items to arrive at your door.
Your card is never charged until your item has been successfully delivered, and there is no cost for posting a request.
