Description

MVS have available this iconic Ford consul cortina GT (mk1)

This is a 1960's sports saloon in the range of the time with GT trim levels fitted with a hand full of subtle modifications.

This car benefits from a recent differential and bottom end rebuilds.

Kelvedon Lotus replaced the rear wheel bearings and fuel tank sender unit in September 2022.

• The differential was rebuilt in August 2022 by Retroford. • A bottom end engine rebuild was carried out in July 2022 by The Pitstop, which included main, big end and thrust bearing replacements, as well as fitment of

new gaskets and plugs, and an oil change.|

• The brake and clutch master cylinders were replaced in November 2021 by Powertrack.

• A new rose-jointed strut brace was installed via Stage 1 in May 2020.

• The Land Rover P700-type headlights were installed by Vintage Warehouse 65 in January 2020. • In August 2017, the fuel tank sender seals, fuel filler neck hose saloon, advance/retard pipe, choke cable, speedometer cable, headlamp bezel fixing clips,|

heater matrix gasket, and steering box aperture gasket were replaced via the Mk1 Cortina Club.

This Ford Consul Cortina (Mk1) is an iconic 1960s sports saloon, in the range-topping 'GT' trim level.

• Power comes from the 1.5-litre Kent inline-four, delivering 78bhp to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

• The car was launched as the Consul Cortina prior to a modest facelift in 1964, after which it was sold simply as the Cortina.

• This Consul was reportedly taken off the road in 1986, before being recommissioned.

• The plaque on the grille suggests it was displayed at the 2022 Mk1 Cortina National Show.

• The odometer shows 13,466 miles, though this is not warranted.

The car has also had a respray and interior retrim.

It will no doubt make an enjoyable retro weekend cruiser or car show companion.
