Sussex recruitment requires an experienced Payroll Officer to provide a comprehensive, accurate and timely payroll service in accordance with their client’s internal procedures and statutory obligations. Applicants must have a thorough knowledge of payroll and pension procedures and will have been working as a payroll assistant for at least 2 years. In addition, you must have experience in an organisation of over 500 staff.
Duties to include:
Prepare and input payroll data onto the payroll system to ensure timely and accurate payment of staff. Together with the supervisor, act as the joint point of contact with the system provider regarding all payroll activity to ensure the system is maintained and updated in relation to statutory compliance and data protection regulations. Calculate and process all pay awards & increment rises. Check, input and process overtime, additional hours and casual claims to payroll system to ensure accurate and timely payment of staff. Record, implement and advise on sick pay entitlements. Produce monthly and year end annual returns. Provide information requests from statutory bodies and internal clients
The position is full time, 37 hrs per week
