Chinese Medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and is built on the understanding that the body is not separate from the mind and is in fact, an integrated unit. Our emotions can have a direct relationship on our physical health and our physical health can directly influence our mental and emotional capacity and wellbeing.
As the universal concept of Yin and Yang is central to its practice, balance is sought to be restored within the individual through its various modalities, as life's rhythms and environments can cause detriment to our health if not in synchronicity with our daily patterns and constitutions.
Because the aim of treatment is to restore health and help manage often difficult chronic conditions, treatment alone is often not enough if lifestyle changes are not made simultaneously. Guided by TCM theory, written in the ancient classics such as the Huang Di Nei Jing, adjustments can be made through changes in daily activity and diet to help empower the patient and have them take charge of their own health and wellbeing.
" Having suffered chronic sinusitis for over a year, with no alleviation from prescribed medications -actually they just gave me terrible side effects, acupuncture and a course of Chinese herbs not only significantly reduced the symptoms during a sinusitis attack, but reduced the frequency of attacks. Where it would take me a week to 10 days to recover, one acupuncture session will set me right by the next day"

"I have had 2 treatments so far with Tom for a frozen shoulder and am really impressed. He has a lovely manner and helps you feel at ease. He used a combination of acupuncture, cupping and tui na which has worked brilliantly to improve my symptoms. I can now move my shoulder further without pain and feel better in myself generally. I will continue to see him to help my shoulder even more, and highly recommend him"

“I noticed an improvement in my mood and confidence almost immediately after taking the medicine provided by Tom. I have found it the most effective remedy towards helping my PMS, anxiety and depression after trying many other non-herbal approaches first. It was a relief to finally find something that seemed to work so well. On going tweaks have been needed, but overall it has been a brilliant, speedy and useful service”
