The slimmest, lightest blank in the Greys carp range. First impressions last, but performance is proof. Take one look at the Torsion carp rod and it's strikingly slim; pick the rod up and it's amazingly light and well balanced. Cast the rod and it becomes immediately apparent that the rod has massive reserves of power, more than happy with big leads and PVA bags yet surprisingly still has that all important feel under the rod tip during the crucial last moments of the fight.

Gone are the days of super slim blanks that just don't perform; this time Greys have really pushed the limits of physics. For those anglers really wanting to hit the horizon there is a 50mm butt available on models 3lb and higher. In summary the Greys Torsion is quite simply one of the slimmest, lightest and best performance carp that they have ever produced. That's some statement when you've been producing rods for over 40 years !

I used to be a serious carp angler. These are the best rods I have ever used for carp fishing hence why at the time, I was prepared to pay for the quality. I wasn’t disappointed. I caught my 33lb’er

no problem with one of those rods. I did however, employ a specialist rod repairer and builder of rods to do a little job for me on all 3 of these carp rods that I own. That wasn’t exactly cheap either, but it had to be done. I had a stainless steel ball peg retainer whipped onto the butt section of each rod. When your rod is positioned on either the rod pod or rests/buzz bars, it sits behind the rear rod rest and prevents your prized rods ending up in the drink if your attentions were elsewhere and a violent take was to occur, so, for peace of mind and rod security, these just had to be installed.

Also, I had the original line clips which were originally positioned just after the rod handle section and had them repositioned 50cm down the butt section so they are now positioned between the butt and the butt eye. This now gives the carp angler a much better line angle from reel to line clip and then to bobbin and finally to the alarm, therefore increasing sensitive bite indication tenfold.

It may be, too many anglers, to be hardly worth it, or the expense, but if you are serious about your carp fishing, these are the little improvements and adjustments you feel you need to make to catch your prize. In my experience, you only find these improvements on custom built rods that have been hand built my professional rod builders to your specifications. You do not ‘normally’ find this

on rods which are on display in your normal tackle shops.

Watch this YouTube link and all will be explained to you in more detail about the line clips and ball peg retainers . . . .
