Gelding
Unusually marked blue roan and white pony.
Sad sale as unfortunately Munchkin is just not suitable as a first ridden pony for my novice, very small just turned 7yr old daughter, he is suitable as a lead rein or second pony. Munchkin is a very well put together pony and we believe he would do very well in coloured showing classes.
Good bits-
We have enjoyed farm rides and hacks on the lead rein and off lead rein when with another horse.
My daughter has, on good days been able to ride munchkin well off lead, walk, trot and canter over small jumps.
Good in traffic, not a spooky or sharp pony.
We have worked with Munchkin with his groundwork and he is good to lead by my daughter, she can pick up his feet and groom him.
Great to load and travel, stands well for clipping and bathing
Happy ridden on the lunge and enjoys the company of other ponies.
Shows promise over jumps on the lunge and is willing when ridden to pop small jumps.
A pleasure to catch
Currently barefoot, has hoof boots for rough ground
Upto date with dental (recently found and had two blind wolf teeth removed)
Has had saddle and bridle fitter, upto date with chiropractor.
Bad bits-
Munchkin is a clever pony and just knows he can get the better of my daughter. He will nap and refuse to move forward or will just turn around and head for the gate, he is not fast but too strong for my daughter to ride through this and he knows it. This is affecting her confidence. When ridden by another child not much older but more experienced he soon gives up and rides very nicely.
We are in no rush to sell Munchkin and we will continue working with him, Finding a good home is very important to us as Munchkin is a lovely pony with loads of potential.
