35% of schools are underfunded by £1 million – £2.5 million. That’s £2730 – £6840/day they need to source, every day of the year, from somewhere, whilst they are dramatically overworked and unsupported.
Not sure about you but we felt that was a ridiculous situation for schools to be in, so we set about solving the problem.
We’re a social enterprise that helps the schools let out their facilities on the weekends and evenings. With everything from classrooms, to drama studios to sports fields sitting empty during this time, it’s a perfect opportunity to generate extra income without disrupting the school day.
Where do you come in? Imagine you run a dance group for 25 kids aged 10 and under, you turn up to the school to host the event, only to discover it’s locked and the kids start running wild. Not great. Fortunately, we have an incredible team of Community Connectors (that’ll be you) that solve this problem.
From unlocking the schools, to giving the customers and amazing welcome, to securing the site to be handed back to the teachers in the morning, the Community Connectors (CC’s) are absolutely integral to what we do.
What’s the deal? Weekends/evenings, £8.50/hr, fixed hours (typically 2-3/week, and you’ll get paid even if there are no shifts #result), flexibility to take more hours if you want (up to 20/week if you’re trained on multiple schools), and a deep and enduring sense that you’re proactively enriching the lives of thousands of school students.
Note these roles are based across Oxfordshire.
