Originally from Plymouth, in October 2015 I relocated to Brighton where my wife was born and raised and yearned to return. I now live in Saltdean, with my workshop at Chailey.
Although my primary formal training and apprenticeship was in French Polishing, I have also trained, and am proficient in spray lacquering, working in both traditional and modern finishes.
The kind of work this encompasses, can be anything from ‘touching up’ a scratch on a piece of furniture using traditional methods, to spray lacquering and changing the colour of a complete kitchen. It could also be antique furniture, complete restoration including repairs, or modern furniture, wooden beams, pianos, floors, doors and panelling. I also undertake re-upholstering of dining chairs and re-leathering of desktops.
As well as in the home, I have worked on yachts, boats and classic car dashboard renovation.
Apart from working in the domestic field, commercially, I have undertaken contracts for various companies, including, Jury's Inn, Holiday Inn, Gleneagles Hotel (Scotland), The Connaught Hotel (London),The Admiralty (Plymouth), Chem-dry, McAleer and Rushe, Castlebrooks, Mowlem, Midas, InterServe, and Pendennis Shipyard to name but a few, as well as shop-fitting companies and letting agents.
You can rest assured that you are in safe hands, providing a high quality, personal and friendly service, and being fully insured up to £2,000,000.
