To ensure that the Company operates to the highest standards of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality through being accountable for the delivery of the SHEQ strategy and engagement to ensure continuous improvement, world class performance and the development of appropriate SHEQ culture
Clearly understands the standards set in the various ISO accreditations Carries out regular site monitoring of operations to ensure standards and legislative requirements are met Demonstrates a good knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation. Monitor and reports all incidents using both the Company procedures Investigates all serious incidents reported through the Company system. Carry out internal audits to ensure Company standards are met. Completion of the Site SHEQ monthly report in the required timeline. Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements. Plan and prioritise work Ensuring that current advisory services is maintained and available at all times on matters affecting the health, safety, environmental and quality of all personnel at their place of work. Advising Site Management on all SHEQ, occupational health and welfare matters, and keep them appraised on the success or otherwise of their measures, and advising Management of possible alternative arrangements. Inspecting places of work in accordance with SHEQ schedule, focusing on provision of safe systems of work, safe places of work and attitudes towards SHEQ. Promote improvements in attitudes towards SHEQ, ensuring that any best practice is communicated to the Regional SHEQ team. Focus on promoting the SHEQ functions and achievements, including raising the profile using Information, Instruction, Training and Supervision Ensuring that personnel are regularly and properly informed by maintaining a coordinated system of SHEQ publicity, promotions and adequate level of training (Health & Safety Level 1). Ensuring that personnel at all levels are properly up-dated on new and revised personal SHEQ legislation. Support Line Management in carrying out minor investigations into accidents/incidents, fires and dangerous occurrences, and issuing reports detailing causes and recommended action. Adopt the role of Lead Investigator for any serious accident/incidents (or above) with Site Management support until the Investigation is taken over by the Regional SHEQ Manager. Ensure that the Company database is updated on a regular basis and that actions are closed on a timely basis Liaising with Management and the Authorities on the notification of accidents and dangerous occurrences, and the reporting/recording of these incidents. Assisting and support (when required) in the preparation of risk assessments and method statements in conjunction with management and sub-contractors etc. Attend, Contractor Safety Forum, Area Safety Coordinator, Site Management and Bi-Monthly SHEQ Meetings. Fostering good relations by co-operation with representatives of the Health & Safety Executive, Environmental Health Officer, Environment Agency, Head of Supply Chain, Industrial Safety and Contract Manager and other Contractors. Develop Safety Culture Objectives via Zero Harm process and Mind Safety Initiatives, and promote and support site teams. Monitor and review the Continuous Improvement system, and ensure that any necessary actions are understood and any remedial actions are completed. Promote and ensure participation in the Green League initiative at site level. Issue formal reports, recommending corrective action on the outcome of inspections and audits. Ensure that any best practice is communicated to the Regional SHEQ team. Ensure that all staff are within the requirements of Health & Safety Level Support Line Management in issuing accident reports including remedial actions. Completion of the Site SHEQ monthly report in the required timeline. Completion of agreed Company Contract audit schedule. Ensure that all the Site CIS actions are closed within the required timeline. Promote and support Site teams on Zero Harm and Mind Safety Initiatives. Effective implementation of SHEQ policy and procedures, and delivery of SHEQ standards on your respective site. Develop and implement the SHEQ culture across the Site staff. Assist in the development of SHEQ policy and procedures Carries out regular Safety Briefings with staff and records attendance. Carries out Health & Safety Level 1 training on site to ensure all staff receive this every 2 years. Advise Company on Health and Safety training on Site. Monitor and review the site ZERO HARM board. Communicates informally through walking the site regularly and observing performance Meets regularly with Site Management Team to discuss compliance performance. Completion of the Site SHEQ monthly report in the required timeline. Liaises regularly with Client Supply Chain, Quality Management Teams. Compile and write reports with recommendations/actions following Internal/External audits Is clear and concise in all written communication Review all risk assessments and method statements Completes Point of work Risk Assessment Ensures appropriate PPE is worn/used and is good working order Ensures work area is protected using appropriate barriers/signs Ensures full training has been received for each aspect of the job Ensures work area is left safe on completion of the job Support and advise site team on the most appropriate access equipment to be used.
Qualification’s Skills and Experience
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management or equivalent (IEMA etc.) Qualification in Quality Management (i.e.; Internal auditor training etc.)
