East Sussex County Council Buy With Confidence Scheme

Any business can apply to join. The list of approved traders runs from builders to wine merchants and from chauffeurs to upholsterers.

How does it work?

Approved traders are vetted before they join and agree to:

• ensure that staff are properly trained for their work
• respond promptly and correctly to customer complaints
• get Criminal Records Bureau clearance for all staff who carry out work in people's homes.

In addition, Trading Standards will provide a mediation service if there is a dispute that cannot be resolved between the parties concerned.

If you know someone who doesn't have access to the Internet, you can order them a copy of our Buy With Confidence approved trader directory. The Buy With Confidence scheme is run by East Sussex County Council Trading Standards.

We are inviting applications from businesses and individuals to become Approved providers of care services. This scheme launched in October 2010.
