Shula Bailey has been writing poetry for over forty years.
Her early work sprang from the cathartic release of the emotional trauma caused by the break-up of her thirty-year marriage.
But the strong flow of this creative energy became of itself a purpose, giving Shula a renewed life of artistic production.
She writes from the heart, inspired by love, nature, grief and death; celebration and healing; indeed all that encompasses the travails of the human condition.
She has many tributes from members of the Royal Family, a constant inspiration.
Often Shula feels as if she is guided by another force, like an inner light that sheds words onto the paper. Shula’s writing is deeply spiritual, encompassing her feeling of unity with God and the angels.
This development of words was accompanied by an equally fervent evolution of Shula’s natural psychic abilities.
She became a medium and has to date helped many hundreds of people through the stormy passages of life into calmer seas.
Through her fingers came a further artistic endeavour in the making of pottery figurines, in moving evocations of humanity.
Shula’s prolific output of more than 2000 poems are founded upon a life of creativity.
In her early years, growing up in Israel (then Palestine), she began writing poems in Hebrew, her mother tongue, and graduated to acting and singing.
Marriage brought her to England, and thence to Malawi, where she channelled her talents into activities with the local population.
She taught children and women, ran Girl Guide groups, built up performing troupes, and became involved in amateur theatre.
Back in England, Shula had the joy of seeing her poems appreciated by the many visitors to her Suffolk craft shop, and successfully published several collections.
She has now retired to Sussex, where writing is still her first love.
For the same period of time, Shula has helped hundreds of people through her skills as a medium, clairsentient and palm analyst.
Although retired from this work as a profession, she still finds time to help those in need, but only now as a hobby.
She can't turn people away when they are in need of her help, and so she continues to do what she can.
Shula loves to hear from people, and is happy to talk about her artistic work and her skills as a medium.
