Here at The Disabilities Trust, we are recruiting for a Kitchen Assistant to assist the Chef on duty with general kitchen duties at our BIRT service: Kent House, Aylesbury.
Kent House is a purpose built centre in Aylesbury which provides accommodation and specialist support for adults with acquired brain injury and physical disability. Rehabilitation takes place in a tranquil and supportive environment, with service users enjoying access to a wide range of therapeutic and recreational facilities.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will assist in the daily preparation of cooked nutritious meals for service users ensuring food is of a high quality.
Kitchen Assistant Duties & Responsibilities:
•Assistance with the preparation of food for cooking/serving as required
•Washing and drying all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils - ensuring a high standard of hygiene is maintained
•To follow any dietary or food preparation guidelines as provided in service user care plans and guidance by health care professionals
•May be required to deputise in absence of Chef
•Other cleaning duties as required
Candidates must have the ability to be flexible and adaptable in approach as well as being a team player and able work with others.
Basic Food Hygiene certificate or equivalent is an advantage but not essential.
