Chessington World of Adventures
If you’re lucky enough to be spending your August Bank Holiday weekend in Surrey, then you’re lucky enough to have a family-friendly theme park right on your doorstep. Chessington World of Adventures offers nine themed lands, a zoo and a Sea Life Centre all in one place. Plus, you can even party with Alex, King Julien, Gloria, Mort and the Penguins at Madagascar Live, free with your park ticket. Head online and book tickets in advance to save money on your park tickets.
Date: Open every day throughout August
Time: 10am – 6pm
Venue: Chessington World of Adventures

British Wildlife Centre
If you’d like to spend your August Bank Holiday with the family in somewhere a little more peaceful, then the British Wildlife Centre gives you the opportunity to get to know some of Britain’s native wildlife. The centre offers over 40 different native species, from tiny mice to red deer. There are also keeper talks throughout the day on everything from otters to owls.
Date: Open daily thoughout August
Time: 10am – 5pm, last admission 4pm
Venue: British Wildlife Centre, Lingfield
Cost: £10.50 per adult, £7.60 per child, £33 per family of four

Birdworld
We’ve got another animal-themed day out for you this summer bank holiday – why not get to know our feathered friends a little more at Surrey’s Birdworld? At Birdworld, you’ll find the bird park, Jenny Wren farm and even an underwater world. Plus, throughout August, they are hosting extra events and activities for the school holidays, including creative fun with Crafty Little Artists on Wednesday 29 August.
Date: Open every day throught August
Time: 10am – 6pm
Venue: Birdworld, Farnham
Cost: £13.50 per adult, £12.50 per child aged 3 – 6, £13.50 per child aged 7 – 15

Wings and Wheels
The annual Dunsfold Wings and Wheels show is returning to Surrey this Bank Holiday weekend. Head down on either the Sunday or the Monday and enjoy the air show, motoring show, vintage and classic aircraft fly-in, military vehicle parade, and much more. 
Date: 26 – 27 August 2012
Venue: Dunsfold Park
Cost: £18 per adult in advance, £40 per family in advance – one day tickets

Family Fun Race Day
Enjoy a day at the races this summer bank holiday – with the whole family! This August Bank Holiday, Epsom Downs is hosting a very special family race day with a whole host of entertainment plus, of course, the odd horse race too!
