Historical Commercial Vehicle Society London to Brighton Run
Not only is the HCVS run popular, it’s a lovely day out with an opportunity to see hundreds of historical vehicles all lovingly restored to their best travelling into Brighton. There are road steam engines, retro buses and even some vintage fire-engines among many other vehicles. There are so many different types of vehicles all done up so nicely it really is an event that the whole family will find interesting.

Fashion and the Flag
Although not exclusively for the Bank Holiday what better way to spend a pre-Jubilee and pre-Olympic rainy day than admiring this fascinating collection of clothing, all inspired by, or using the design of, the Union Jack. Alexander McQueen, Jasper Conran and Vivien Westwood are just some of the British designers to have taken inspiration from the flag and some of their outfits are on display as part of this exhibition at the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.

Belle’s Vintage Wedding Fair
In an event that is possibly one more for the ladies, The Hove Centre is to be transformed into a vintage bridal paradise with suppliers, music, photographers and hair and make-up specialists. In fact, if it’s wedding related then they’ve probably got it. As well as entertainment, which you can of course book, there’s also vintage afternoon tea available to keep those energy levels up. Bride or no bride it sounds like a blast!

Absolutely Brighton
If you fancy a bit of fresh air this weekend then maybe this Brighton and Hove event is for you. Join Julian Clapp, your tour guide with an extensive knowledge of Brighton, to find out more about our fascinating city. This 90 minute walking tour will visit some of Brighton’s famous sites as well as uncovering some of the city’s hidden past.

Barefoot Run
Come along to the Barefoot Run and raise some money for the Fire Fighters charity. There is both a 1k run and a 5K run, both open to any age, so why not bring the whole family and see who wins? There are prizes up for grabs and goodie bags for competitors.
