Top Ten Free iPhone Apps

With most of the world having completely in love with the wonder that is the Apple iPhone; iPad and various Mac’s it is no surprise that there are literally thousands of Apps available to download to your portable best friend, but which ones are the best?

Well it probably won’t come as a surprise that the most popular ones are free; if we can get something without paying for it we’ll do it – right? Although our favourite Apps are free to us, Apple still makes plenty of money from advertising so you needn’t worry about that.
If you’re at a bit of a loss as to which Apps to include in your must-have list then have a look below at the top ten free apps of all time.
Number ten:
Paper Toss: This annoyingly addictive game has one of the simplest ideas behind it – toss paper into a bin, easy right? Well no, it’s not actually, but that won’t stop you - this game will have you trying to perfect it for hours to beat your own score.
Number nine:
Not surprisingly; Skype has managed to make itself into the top ten free iPhone apps. It’s a way of making contact with someone for free, so why waste your minutes, texts and data package when you can speak to your friends and family for free? Of course this only applies if they too have an iPhone and have downloaded Skype.
Number eight:
Bump – to put it simple Bump is an App where you can exchange contact details via Bluetooth by physically bumping your iPhone (lightly of course) against another iPhone. This stops the whole ‘ok put my number in your phone then prank call me so I’ve got yours then I can save your number to my phone’ malarkey; pretty handy really.
Number seven:
Google earth: have the world in the palm of your hands with Google earth for the iPhone.
Number six:
The weather channel, this app is a little more sophisticated than the standard weather forecast that comes with the iPhone and you can view radars and satellite weather in any location of your choice – handy if you can’t decide whether to crack out the flip flops or your umbrella.
Number five:
Movies by Flixster allows you to change the way you cinema forever; you can read reviews, watch trailers and look up showing times and cinemas whilst you’re out and about.
Number four:
Shazam – this is probably one of the most genius app ideas ever; all of us have been in that situation when you can hear a song playing, you know you like it, but you can’t for the life of you remember what it’s called or who it’s by. Well Shazam will fix that for you, hold your phone up to the song that’s playing and it will locate the title and artist purely by picking up the sounds, then you can choose to download it from the iTunes store.
Number three:
Google mobile – it’s the same as accessing Google from your safari browser but more mobile friendly and allows you to quickly search for anything you need from your iPhone.
Number two:
Pandora – this is a handheld radio station on your iPhone where you can type in the genre of music you want to listen to and it will do the rest, all you have to do is listen and enjoy.
Number one:
It won’t come as a shock that the most popular free app for your iPhone is Facebook; the most addictive way to keep in touch with anyone you want all over the world, no iPhone would be complete without it.
