Things to do this Mother’s Day

It’s nearly that time again, the one day of the year where every mum in the country gets to put their feet up, relax a bit, and enjoy some well deserved TLC from their children and partners.

You’ve made your mum breakfast in bed and given her some beautiful flowers, but what now? Make sure you spoil your mum this Mother’s Day by taking a look at some of our brilliant activity ideas below.

Time for tea
If you’re mum is partial to the odd biscuit and loves a good cuppa, then why not treat her to a special afternoon tea? Afternoon tea’s are available all over the country, and the posher the hotel - the better! How about whisking her off to London for the day for an extra special tea-shaped treat, and spend the afternoon munching on finger sandwiches and cream cakes - perfect.

Pamper me please
Take Mother’s Day out of the equation and you will still find that everyone loves to be pampered every now and again - and what better way to say thanks to your mum than by treating her to a sumptuous spa day or pamper package. Whether she needs to unwind with a relaxing massage, or fancies glamming up with a manicure and pedicure - you can’t go wrong here.

Show business
If your mum is more of a night owl, how about taking her for dinner and a show? Of course, London is definitely the hub for all things performing arts, but if budget is an issue then you needn’t fork out for west-end prices.

Have a look at your own local venues and see what’s going on, whether she’s into musicals, drama, or maybe a bit of comedy - we’re sure you’ll be able to find something a little closer to home.

Homemade goodies
You don’t always have to flash the cash to show your mum you care - how about cooking her a delicious homemade meal from scratch, with a yummy (and slightly naughty) dessert to finish off the afternoon. Whether your mum loves a roast dinner, or a nice healthy salad, show her how much you care by cooking her her favourite meal.

Party time
If you’ve got a big family, how about turning Mother’s Day into a family affair by making sure you all get together! Grab everyone from your nephew to your nan and all celebrate together, whether you go out for a meal, or have an afternoon at home with some party rings and wine - it’s a brilliant excuse for a knees up - especially if you haven’t seen each other for a while.
