”The process is very simple and straightforward. I have sold everything from toys to furniture using Friday-Ad. For most items the service has been free. Very profitable, and a lot less effort than a car boot sale! ”

Second hand baby gear – how to find it?

Let’s face it, having a baby is probably the most expensive venture you will ever go on – from the minute they are born they will be a drain on your energy and your wallets – but every parent will agree it’s all so worth it.

If you are expecting a baby or are new to the parenting world and are sitting there worrying about just how you will afford everything, well don’t panic, there are ways and means of providing your little bundle of joy with everything they need – without breaking the bank.
Have you thought about looking online for second-hand goods? I know we all envisage ourselves shopping in mammas and papas for beautiful pine furniture and classic teddy bears – but you don’t have to get all of those things with a massive price tag attached just to provide your baby with all of the things you want.
When preparing for the arrival of your baby it’s important to work out what you can afford to buy new, and what may be worth getting second hand – some more expensive items like cots, Moses baskes, rocking cribs and changing units can easily be bought second hand and can be in absolutely fantastic condition when you get them.
The thing to remember here is that babies grow ever so quickly, so Moses baskets and some smaller cots and cribs won’t fit the child for long, and they’ll soon require a larger sized bed.
The same goes with prams and buggies, buying a second hand pram designed for a newborn can be a much better investment than getting one brand new. As the baby grown he or she will need to a different style of pushchair or buggy, and if you have a second child whilst the first one still requires a pushchair you could see yourself getting through three to four prams!
All of which would be incredibly expensive when bought from new.
So how do you go about finding good quality second hand items for your baby? Well online is a fantastic place to start and is probably the easiest way of going about getting what you want.
There are loads of advertising sites on the internet with people buying, selling and swapping baby equipment, from baby baths and buggies to changing mats and high chairs you are guaranteed to be able to find it all on the internet.
