Testimonials
”The perfect platform to advertise low priced goods, because it appears to cater for the right clientele. Response to advertisements is excellent. ”
Joseph, Carshalton
”The process is very simple and straightforward. I have sold everything from toys to furniture using Friday-Ad. For most items the service has been free. Very profitable, and a lot less effort than a car boot sale! ”

No money? No problem - get a weekend break on a budget

It is fast becoming the popular choice to take a few weekends away rather than just one long summer holiday; so don’t spend your months scrimping and saving for that fortnight in Spain, there are loads of ways to get a few smaller holidays on a budget.

When looking to book your weekend away you have to think about what’s more important to you; outstanding accommodation or a beautiful location. If you’re considering doing a mini city break to say Barcelona or New York you will more than likely have to compromise one of these things if you’re going on a budget.
Many people tend to chose location over accommodation in places like this as you’ll only really be at your hotel to sleep and shower as there’s so much to see and do. That means you get to be right in the thick of it – all be it in a basic B&B.
If however you just can’t live without a turn-down service and little chocolates on your pillow you may want to consider staying a few miles away from your chosen destination. Take New York as an example; the action takes place in Manhattan, but if you stay a few miles west you can still travel into the city on the subway whilst having a semi-decent hotel.
Also; if you decide to stay for three nights, try and make your first night a Thursday – accommodation is much cheaper on a Thursday and Friday than it is on a Saturday and Sunday, so you’ll save yourself a few pennies by doing it that way.
You need to make sure you take advantage of off-peak travel deals, this includes flying on less popular flights and checking out late or early to optimise cheap travel.
Avoid public holidays such as New Year; Independence Day, some bank holidays, Easter etcetera as hotels and travel companies grossly overcharge for travel on these days.
If you are planning a Christmas break – go at the very end of November/beginning of December to avoid the rush and save some cash.
Book your time off work well in advance but don’t book your trip until the last minute – by in large you will get a better deal, although be careful of this as cities such as New York get booked up very quickly over the winter months and you may miss out on the accommodation of your choice.
It is much easier to book last minute for a sunny break as travel companies try to fill aeroplane seats to reduce fuel costs and you can make some great savings.
Finally; don’t make ‘thrifty’ the word of the day when you reach your destination; you’ve saved money getting there and staying there so enjoy yourself when you actually arrive – it is a mini holiday after all.
