London 2012 Olympic Torch Route
The first details of the London 2012 Olympic torch route have been revealed, with 74 locations being announced for the famous Olympic flame to pass through.
With every UK nation and region being covered, the Olympic torch is set to travel a colossal 8,000 miles in advance of the big games.
Leaving Land’s End, Cornwall after its arrival from Greece on Saturday 19th May 2012, the torch will be carried by 8,000 “inspirational torchbearers” yet to be chosen. It is known that half of these people will be aged between 12 and 24 and 7,200 of them will be members of the public who have been nominated by people they know.
More names of places in the UK will be revealed in the next few months, but for the moment you can find out some of the key places that the Olympic torch route will cover over its 70 day travels in our handy info guide…
