How to find free stuff on the internet
Nowadays everyone is after a bargain; the demand for free stuff is rising whether it’s domestic appliances such as washing machines; furniture, electrical s and games consoles such as the Playstation – even larger items such as bikes can be found for free.
If you have the know-how you can pretty much furnish every room in your house for free or at least for very cheap. There are loads of internet and listings sites out there where people are just willing to give their stuff away for free.
The way to go about finding the things you want without having to pay for them is to consider items that may be an inconvenience to people to get rid of. Large items of furniture such as a wardrobe or a bed are difficult for people to dismantle and remove themselves; if the item is old they may not get their money’s worth to insert an advert on a paid listings site so they give them away. This is where the term ‘free to collector’ comes in. Anything that is free to the collector is a brilliant bargain if you have the means of collecting the item yourself so maybe ask a man with a van to give you a hand if you only have a small car.
Any technical genius’ out there will no doubt be able to grab a few bargains as well; with electrical items such as old and broken televisions, computers and games consoles, more often than not people won’t know how to fix them or can’t be bothered to do it themselves – and you can’t sell something that’s broken so they end up giving them away.
If you’ve taken apart a few radios and toasters in your time you could experiment with trying to mend a broken computer or try bringing an old Playstation back to life.
Many appliances also go for free or free to people who will collect them; washing machines are always breaking down or leaking from the drum or the door and instead of having them repaired you’d be amazed at how many people just replace them entirely. If you’re a plumber, you know a plumber, or you just don’t mind getting your hands a bit dirty then you can pick up a second hand washing machine and fix it up yourself. You might have to spend a few quid on a new rubber sealant for the door but in the grand scheme of things this is much cheaper than buying one new.
A simple search of the internet using ‘free stuff’ or ‘free to collector’ in the search bar will bring up plenty of adverts for you to look at – you really would be surprised at what you can get for free.
