”The perfect platform to advertise low priced goods, because it appears to cater for the right clientele. Response to advertisements is excellent. ”
Joseph, Carshalton
”The process is very simple and straightforward. I have sold everything from toys to furniture using Friday-Ad. For most items the service has been free. Very profitable, and a lot less effort than a car boot sale! ”

Graduate Jobs in Brighton

Graduate JobsLooking for graduate jobs can be confusing and quite stressful. Lots of people who are fresh out of university will be looking for work and it is important that you stand out from the crowd. This article will give you some advice on graduate recruitment and how you can make a good impression with your cover letter and CV.

Graduate Jobs Advice - Cover Letter

You should always address the reader with their name if you know it. You should use their title and surname if you want to sound polite and professional. Avoiding the use of their first name is advised so you do not seem over familiar.

Make sure that your first sentence states your intention to apply for the job.

You should reference your ability to do the job well. Focus on how you suit the employer’s needs to avoid being self-important.

Do not make the cover letter too long; keep the main bulk of your skills for your CV.

Try to be concise and compelling.

If you are going to apply for a number of similar positions then you will find you can tweak the same cover letter which will save you time.

Make sure you leave your contact details so they can get hold of you easily.

Graduate Recruitment Advice – CV

Make sure that your name, address, email and phone numbers are on your CV.

You should have a personal statement which captures the reader’s attention and makes them want to read more. You should introduce your main skills and how they relate to the graduate job

You should include any work experience you have had, the most recent experience at the top.

Education you have had should also be listed in reverse chronological order. You can include a brief description and the grades you have gained.

You should include any skills you have, every IT programme you have used, foreign language skills and driving licence.

You can decide to include hobbies and interests if you wish, these can give the interviewer a better idea of your personality and a more personal topic to discuss at interview.

You do not have to list references on your CV you can simply state they are available on request.

The layout needs to be clear and simple, keep it to 2 A4 pages in length and no more.

Make sure your CV is relevant and accurate.

Do not jazz up the CV with colours and images.

Only underline links.

Use basic fonts such as Arial or Times New Roman because they are simple to read.

Do not use font smaller than size 11.

Do not abbreviate unless the abbreviations are universally known.

Finally check for errors.
