Free stuff online & saving the planet
There are many advantages of giving things away for free. But one advantage that is usually overlooked is the environmental one. There are thousands of people selling their old belongings online, it is great. You need something but you don’t want to splash mega bucks buying it brand new so you just pop online and you can buy it cheap.
However what about things that are a bit too shabby to even pay pennies for? Well, online there is an abundance of stuff going for free. If it weren’t for these sites then all of this would most probably be going to landfill.
It is financially great to get something for free, obviously, I mean you don’t have to be Carol Vorderman to work that out, but if you think about the planet as well then you can have a great sense of pride in what you are doing.
Buy taking that shabby old desk off someone or by collecting an old worn TV you aren’t just saving cash but you are also preventing it from being taken up the tip. If everyone recycled in this way then not only would the planet be reaping the rewards but it would also make it much better for people to get hold of older worn furniture or battered second hand things.
I mean some people would rather pay an extra bob or three to buy something that is more aesthetically pleasing but some people aren’t bothered by that. If you are running on a tight budget then you can’t be picky about what you purchase so why not go online and look at all of the free stuff?
Also, if you are thinking of chucking out some old tatty thing that you no longer have a use for then why not give it away for free? You would be helping out your fellow man, or woman, and you would be saving the planet.
The only rule with getting free stuff online is that you have to pick it up yourself. Which isn’t that much of an issue is it?
In my opinion everything can be re-used: If you have an old sink then you could give it to someone else who could pop it in the garden and use it as a flower pot. See you get the picture. From now on if you don’t want something, don’t drive it to the tip and throw it away; get online and give it to someone who does want it!
