”The perfect platform to advertise low priced goods, because it appears to cater for the right clientele. Response to advertisements is excellent. ”

”The process is very simple and straightforward. I have sold everything from toys to furniture using Friday-Ad. For most items the service has been free. Very profitable, and a lot less effort than a car boot sale! ”

Entertaining your kids in your caravan

So you have just bought your caravan and want to go away on holiday. I don’t blame you, that is what they are intended for. But what to do with the kids? You can’t leave them at home; we have all seen ‘Home Alone’. You can’t guarantee your kids will be as ingenious as Macaulay Culkin.

So you are taking them with you. Well before you go you are going to have to think long and hard about how to keep them occupied, otherwise you shall be doing no relaxing at all my friend. You can’t just set them loose on the unsuspecting caravan site; Lord only knows what they might get up to, so do everyone a favour and be prepared. Here are some ideas I had on how to keep them quiet.

Colouring Books
The king of the child distracter is the colouring book. When I was a kid I had some amazing dinosaur ones that kept me occupied for days. In fact if I had one now I think I would get very little else done. My friend Jitender even bought one when he was at university.

So get a bunch of colouring books and some felt pens and set them on their way. But always, I mean ALWAYS bring spare pens or some crayons as back up, because if their main set dries up you are doomed.

Board Games
Depending on the number of children you have you may have to join in on this one, but that is fine I am sure. Is there anything better in the world than spending time with your children having fun?

My favourite board game is Monopoly because it is easy to cheat if you are the banker, but any game is suitable really. Cluedo can be a little inappropriate, if you do play Cluedo be sure to hide the steel piping when you go to be, we don’t want them getting any ideas now do we?

Cards
Card games are brilliant, I like to play them down the pub with Phil and Barry on Thursdays but that is another story. When playing cards with your kids be sure to make the game nice and easy; Go Fish is a great game for kids as is Snap and Rummy.

I would advise you to avoid poker as this may encourage gambling. Cards are fun, easy to play, safe and best of all they help children to learn about counting. Some of the cleverest mathematicians in the world learnt their trade through playing cards… I think.

Swingball
I have been campaigning to get swingball entered into the Olympics for years now with no luck. It is however, a cracking way to entertain your kids whilst on a caravanning holiday. If you have two children you can leave them to it for hours. It is easy to store, easy to play and jolly good fun.

Bike Rides
A lot of people say to me: “Adam, what is the best way to spend a summer’s day?” and my answer to that question is simple. Get on your bike and go see the countryside. I love riding around the hills and valleys. So pack up all of your bikes, set up your caravan when you reach your destination, and go for a lovely ride.

Kids love riding bikes. Trust me a family bike ride will be the most enjoyable part of your holiday. And it will serve another purpose. It will tire your kids out so when that dreaded bedtime comes they will fall asleep as soon as their heads hit their pillow.

Now you know how to keep them busy which means you can sit back and relax when on holiday. Don’t forget to load up your caravan with an arsenal of entertainment and your family trip should be a blast!
