”The process is very simple and straightforward. I have sold everything from toys to furniture using Friday-Ad. For most items the service has been free. Very profitable, and a lot less effort than a car boot sale! ”

Choosing a nursery school

Choosing a nursery schoolChoosing the right nursery for your child can be difficult. Nurseries and playgroups are a great way to help your child get ready for school when they reach five years old. Such pre-school education can help them get used to being around other children, and give them a vital head start when they begin school.

First of all, you need to know what nurseries there are in your area, and whether they are run by the state or privately. You can do this by contacting your local authority, or contacting you local Family Information Service – a free information service for parents and carers of children up to the age of 19.

Once you know what you’ve got available to you and your children, it’s time to start narrowing down your options. A good tip is to make sure you give yourself enough time – you don’t want your child’s early education to be a rushed decision. Be sure to visit a few nurseries so you can compare the services they offer, their cost and their atmosphere.

Of paramount importance is your child’s health and happiness. When you visit the nursery, do you think it’s somewhere that your child will enjoy being? Have a look at the toys, and how many other children there are there. If most children look happy, and there are lots of children the same age as your child, then that can only be a good sign. It’s also a good idea to check that the nursery is registered with Ofsted, and that there are enough staff on hand to look after all of the children.

When you visit a prospective nursery for your child, you shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions. At the end of the day, your child’s pre-school education is very important so you need to be sure, as much as you can, that you are sending your child to the best possible nursery. Find out as much as you can about things like the safety procedures the nursery has in place, what food and drink will be available to your child, and what will happen if ever you are late to pick your child up.
