Boxing Day sales

Boxing Day is a funny kind of day, some of us love it, and others of us use it as an opportunity to sulk about Christmas being over whilst picking your way through leftover turkey and the dregs of the chocolate tin.

You’ve watched all your new DVDs, and sorted through your new presents more times than you care to remember – if you’re at a loss this Boxing Day then why not think about hitting the Boxing Day sales?
Yes, we know, the phrase ‘Boxing Day sales’ scares the life out of the best of us, but in all seriousness, if you do it right, it can be fun.
If you’re going to hit the shops on Boxing Day then you need to bear in mind that preparation is key – if you hate shopping the other 364 days of the year, then this is not the activity for you.
However, if when faced with the possibility of grabbing a few bargains you immediately run for your credit card then listen up!
Boxing Day sales tend to start pretty early – we’re talking 6am for some shops, so even if you’re not naturally an early riser, it’s worth setting an alarm so you don’t miss out on the good stuff.
There are a few things to think about before you leave the house – the first is car parking – if you’re driving to the shops you will definitely need to leave early enough so you’re not sat queuing during your valuable shopping time.
If you’ve decided to opt for public transport then remember to check the bus and train times before you leave the house. Most services will be running less often than normal on Boxing Day – some buses will run a ‘Sunday service’, others may be a little more regular but you will need to double check.
Once you finally make it to the shops, let the fun begin!
